‘Do Revenge’: Release Date, Trailer, Cast & More

Pastel soaked revenge, anyone?

eleanor and drea in Do Revenge

Remember those dark comedies that had the potential to be horror movies? And/or simply straddled the line between informative and problematic? Decent dark comedies have been far and few between for a long time now. I’ll be honest when I say that I’m very selective when it comes to this genre. It’s hard, though, to ignore the absolute delight that Netflix’s Do Revenge (2022) seems like it will be. Especially when Maya Hawke plays a main role in it!

Some of us mostly know Maya Hawke as Steve (Joe Keery)’s snarky lesbian bestie in Stranger Things, the opening kill in Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021), or as an indie artist. Somehow, her playing alongside Camila Mendes, who folks know as Veronica in Riverdale, feels right? I’m excited.

Though—what exactly is Do Revenge (2022) about? And what other details have been revealed about the upcoming Netflix film? Scroll on to find out.

Do Revenge Release Date and Plot Explained

The film is about Eleanor (Maya Hawke) and Drea (Camila Mendes), two students who band together to take down each other’s bullies. It’s said to be inspired by Hitchcock’s film: Strangers on a Train (1951). Do Revenge (2022) will be released on Netflix on September 16th.

The Official Do Revenge Trailer

Believe me when I say, that the trailer is very colorful, funny, the outfits are poppin’, and it’s very sapphic. The costume designer deserves a slow clap. There’s no doubt that this movie found inspiration from Heathers (1989) and potentially Jawbreaker (1999).

The Do Revenge Cast Confirmed

  • Maya Hawke as Eleanor
  • Camila Mendes as Drea
  • Austin Abrams as Max
  • Ava Capri as Carissa
  • Maia Reficco as Montana
  • Paris Berelc as Meghan
  • Talia Ryder as Gabbi
