Disruptive Passenger Sparks Controversy: ‘Prove You’re Not Racist’ Chant on Flight
Would letting a Black passenger off the plane first really prove you're not racist?

A passenger’s unusual attempt to reach the front of a plane has sparked debate online after he told fellow travelers they needed to “prove you’re not racist” by letting him pass. In a video posted to X, the man walks through the cabin after landing and uses the accusation as he asks people to make room, later declaring that everyone on the plane is an “ally.”
The video was posted by X user @ImMeme0 on August 20, 2026. The passenger is not identified, and the footage does not name the airline, flight, destination, or circumstances that led to the exchange. The Daily Dot also reported on the video and noted that it could not independently verify the events depicted.
One Passenger’s Unusual Way of Getting to the Front
The man opens the video with a demand: “Prove you’re not racist and let all the Black people off the plane first.” He then starts making his way toward the front while other passengers stand in the aisle and retrieve their belongings. When people step aside, he repeatedly congratulates them with a sarcastic “Good job.”
I’m curious, what would you do if a Black man told you to let him deplane first just to “prove” you aren’t racist?

One exchange becomes more direct when he encounters a white man standing in the aisle with a carry-on. “Excuse me, sir. You’re not racist, right?” he asks. The passenger turns and makes room, allowing him to continue toward the front.
The man eventually reaches another traveler who is already standing near the aircraft door with a suitcase. He tells the passenger, “Prove you’re not racist and let me off the plane first.” The traveler responds, “Oh, that’s what it takes?” before moving aside. “Yeah, yeah,” the man answers as he passes.
Once he reaches the front, he turns toward the cabin and announces, “All right, everybody here is an ally. Good job, everybody. America is great.” A flight attendant appears to laugh during the exchange, although the footage does not establish what prompted her reaction.
Viewers Are Left With More Questions Than Answers
The video has divided viewers over the passengers’ decision to let the man pass. Some commenters interpreted the interaction as an attempt to pressure strangers into complying, while others questioned why the passengers did not just refuse and remain in place.
One commenter argued that the scene showed people avoiding confrontation because they did not want to be called racist. Another described the behavior as rude and accused the passenger of bullying his way to the front. These are reactions from viewers who watched the footage, not statements from the people involved in the encounter.
Beyond the recorded exchange, there is little information about what happened on the flight. The video begins after the plane has landed and does not show whether anything happened before the passenger began recording. It also provides no explanation for why he made the request or why the other travelers chose to comply.
The Daily Dot, nor The Mary Sue, were able to independently verify the events shown in the video, so the available footage does not establish the larger circumstances or exchange behind the encounter.
