Listen: I know we’re reaching peak “remake” with all these re-imagined franchises popping back up. It’s almost like Dawn of the Dead featuring childhood cartoons. But in the case of this brand new DuckTales, I’ve actually got… some bit of hope. If the Disney reboot of the classic Mickey Mouse cartoons are anything to go by, then there’s a very strong chance that this new DuckTales might be worth checking out.
The style, as well, matches the Mickey Mouse cartoon reboot. You can see for yourself by comparing this short on YouTube with the preview art above:
What you’ll notice from the preview art, though, is that there’s one fan favorite missing from the lineup: Launchpad McQuack (no, not that one). Here’s hoping he turns up in one way or another. Fingers crossed. DuckTales was a huge childhood favorite of mine–including that summer movie featuring Rip Taylor.
