New Deadpool Images Hint at X-Men Connection

Deadpool hasn’t been treated especially kindly in Fox’s X-Men universe up until now, while his own movie looks kind of awesome. However, it’s still no entirely his own movie, as ties to the X-Men franchise remain, and one of these images makes that crystal clear.

Not only do we get a nifty look at Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Colossus—as well as a shot of Gina Carano as Angel Dust that you can see below—from Empire, but here’s the image we’re most interested in:

While frequently shown in a different outfit, Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the above pic seems to be wearing a New Mutants uniform—with a prominent X on her shoulder to drive the point home. With Fox already underway on a New Mutants movie project and their ever-shifting X-Men storylines undergoing some changes in Apocalypse, the appearance of the uniform in Deadpool makes a lot of sense. As for exactly how much it’ll play into the plot—or maybe just Warhead’s backstory—we’ll have to wait and see.

Maybe this could be a way to launch the character’s popularity in preparation for her to lead the New Mutants? What do you think?
