Tell Time With An Umbrella, Sunshine Required

I'll Allow It

At first we thought this umbrella concept was brilliant: buy one for your latitude, line it up with the compass in the handle, and show everybody what time it is.  That’s astronomy, baby! Then we remembered that generally umbrellas are not used when the sun is out, making this a parasol. So if you’re ever feeling a touch of the vapors and want to be able to report the time to the town doctor at his next house visit, or you’re looking for the perfect accessory to that lolita cosplay that doesn’t match your watch, or…

Or actually if you’re in charge of a pool or a beach these would be totally sweet to put all around.  So hey. Yeah. We just out-sarcasmed ourselves.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
