Canadian residents buy a box of assorted Cadbury Halloween candy. Then they see what the assortment actually looks like: ‘That’s not fair’
They didn't have a fair shot at getting the Dairy Milk Oreo flavor.

Social media content creators Tony & Dayna (@tonyanddayna) bought Cadbury Halloween chocolates, hoping to taste every flavor in the assorted box. But when they opened the box of 45, they were dismayed by what they found inside.
“What is going on in the boxes of Halloween candy? I bought this one specifically because I saw the Dairy Milk Oreo,” Dayna told TikTok. She pointed at the illustration of Dairy Milk Oreo Cadbury on the box. Tony said he has never seen the flavor in an assorted box before. Because of that, Dayna was excited and bought the Cadbury Box, assuming that the flavors were evenly distributed. They didn’t have a quality issue, unlike this chocolatier from Michigan who experimented on a Hershey’s bar. Instead, Tony & Dayna found a distribution issue.
“So, I bought a box of this, and there was one Dairy Milk Oreo and 44 Wunderbar ones,” she reported. Because her initial purchase was uneven, the duo bought another box, hoping for more Dairy Milk Oreos inside. When Tony opened the sealed Cadbury box, they ran into the same problem. Among the many Wunderbars and Caramilks, only one Dairy Milk Oreo was available. There were also Twirl bars, but only three were in the box.
“Listen, I don’t mind Wunderbar, but this is a lot of Wunderbar,” Tony said. He held only one piece of Dairy Milk Oreo in his hand. Dayna commented, “These are good, but like, if you advertise this on the box and there’s only one? That’s not fair.” But Tony and Dayna are not the only ones posting about the experience on social media. Their Cadbury unboxing video went viral, and the pair caught the attention of other social media users who have been complaining about the alleged unevenly distributed chocolates in their boxes.
People had complaints about their Cadbury boxes
One TikTok user posted a video of their box’s contents and showed an uneven mix of Wunderbars, Caramilks, Twirls, and a single Dairy Milk Oreo. Like Tony and Dayna, this TikTok user also had more Wunderbars in their box than any other flavor. Another commenter alleged that they didn’t even have a single Dairy Milk Oreo in their box. Upset, one TikTok user also accused Cadbury of “playing in our faces during a recession.” Other people have made similar complaints about the rising cost of Halloween candy; meanwhile, these allegedly defective Cadbury boxes retail for roughly $10 CAD or more.
“This inspired me to check my box. We got a 90 pack, we had 45 wunderbars and 7 of the Oreos. The other two were split evenly,” another commenter wrote. Tony and Dayna tagged Cadbury Canada in their video, stating, “So guess this is a standard @cadburyca? Come onnn.” They later commented on their video and said Cadbury Canada had reached out to them personally. The duo promised to keep everyone posted on the issue, but have not yet posted an update.
