California Man Surprises His Dad with The Best Father's Day Gift 'That Little Boy Has Tickets for The World Cup'

With the FIFA World Cup in full swing, football fans around the world are hoping to see their favorite teams compete against each other. Jesus (@juixxe), whose dad is a football fan, had a heartwarming surprise for Father’s Day that went viral on TikTok.

He flew in from San Diego to Chicago to visit his father at work. Jesus said that he wouldn’t be able to see him for Father’s Day, but he bought World Cup tickets so that he and his dad could see their favorite team live.

“What’s up, dad?” Jesus went into the garage his father works at. The man seemed surprised and came out to hug Jesus.

“Oh man, you scared me!” His dad said, and it looks like the man was unaware that his son would be visiting him at work. Jesus’ dad could barely contain the smile on his face.

“Well, I had a layover, so I thought I’d come over and visit,” he said. Jesus also explained that since he couldn’t see his dad for Father’s Day, he wanted to drop the gift off. At first, the dad was worried, looking to the side, saying, “Uh-oh.”

Then, he pulled out a childhood photo of his father.

“I want you to know that this gift is very special to me,” Jesus said, handing the photo to his father. The man recognized himself immediately.

“Well, I came to tell you that little boy has tickets for the World Cup,” Jesus revealed. His dad tried to laugh it off at first.

“No, don’t mess with me,” he told Jesus. It seemed like it would be a cruel prank if his hopes were kept up all for nothing. But there was no prank, and his dad came in for another hug.

“Thank you, Zapato,” the man told his son, who was ecstatic to see his favorite team. But the surprise didn’t end there.

Leaving for Mexico to see the World Cup

“I have your suitcase ready. We’re going to Mexico!” Jesus said, leaving his father surprised once more. He then brought out an Adidas Mexico National Team jersey for his dad to wear to the upcoming match.

Even with the jersey in hand, the man could only muster a “Now?” in surprise.

“It’s not a dream anymore! Let’s go!” He said when the reality finally dawned on him. On the same day, Jesus flew his father to Mexico City at Estadio Azteca to see the match between Mexico and South Africa.

Jesus caught his father tearing up during the opening ceremony of the game. But as if the story had to have a perfectly happy ending, Mexico scored two goals against South Africa. The father-son duo were celebrating by the end of it, but social media wept at the touching story.

A commenter on TikTok wrote, “Am I tripping, or is anyone else’s screen getting blurry??”

One self-professed South Africa fan said, “I suddenly feel better about Mexico beating us in the first game.”

Someone else commended Jesus, “Of all the people you’ve surprised. This is a special one, brother. What a blessing!”

But others on TikTok were also sharing their World Cup surprise stories.

A TikTok user said, “My mom has been wearing black for over a year ever since her brother passed. I surprised her with tickets to the Iraq vs. Venezuela game. She wore white for the first time, and she got to experience a bit of home since fleeing. Our parents deserve everything and more.”

Another wrote, “My husband and his brother surprised their dad too!!! Y’all are special for doing this. I know this was a dream come true for them.”

Gifting World Cup tickets to a football fan is a grand gesture, but it’s the thought that went into the surprise that made it special. Jesus’ dad may have just had the best Father’s Day gift.
