Bridgestone Airless Tire Has Crazy Spokes, Is Inexplicably Green

Recommended Videos

Have you ever had to change a tire, for real, like, outside of Driver’s Ed? It is in no way fun and probably the most mundane thing you can possibly do with a tire iron. These concept Bridgestone Airless tires could mean that you’ll never have to change a tire again and can finally treat your tire iron like the dedicated melee weapon it is.

The spokes, which are made out of thermoplastic, radiate out from the center in that trippy way to insure stability so that the tires won’t twist or collapse from every conceviable angle. Also, it’s green, in two different respects. The thermoplastic spokes can be recycled much more efficiently than weathered rubber and, also, it’s literally green. Of course, those spokes are probably going to have to be covered so that they don’t get filled with road-crap, but on the bright side, that opens up a whole new market for airless tire covers. You’ll be able to mix and match them with spinning rims! What more could you possibly ask for?
