Nothing like a casual speakerphone call to turn your relationship into a live exposé. One girl sat quietly while her boyfriend chatted with his mom. Except it wasn’t a casual chat when the mom asked why he even liked his girlfriend. His lukewarm answer? Already suspicious.
But mom wasn’t done. She immediately followed up with, “Then why did you tell me she’s ugly?” and proceeded to air out everything he’d allegedly been saying behind her back. Now TikTok is convinced this wasn’t accidental at all… and that mom knew exactly what she was doing.
What Did the Boyfriend Say?
Over 10 million viewers have been left with their jaw hanging wide open over one man’s audacity. Shay (@shayzdaisy) may not have known it at the moment, but she fully captured what a man looks like when his words come back to haunt him. Even worse, his reactions in the moment were less than comforting.
The clip begins with the camera facing Shay, and in the background, viewers can hear her boyfriend telling his mother that she is asking too many questions while he has her on speakerphone. The mom deflects it and says it’s her job as a mother.
Then she asks, “Why do you like her?” At this, Shay flips the camera, and we see her boyfriend sitting at a desk while playing video games. The mom continues, asking, “Is it because she’s the first girl that’s really kind of giving you a lot of attention?”
He replies with a monotone “yep,” and when his mom presses further, he says he’s just joking and that the girlfriend is “very pretty and nice.” Then she says, “Then why did you say you decided that you don’t like the chin and she’s kinda ugly?”
The boyfriend seems unperturbed by the statement. He laughs and says it’s a joke again, and gives his girlfriend a glance while grinning. Then he switches the narrative and says he never said that. In the background, the mother sounds confused and confirms that he did.
“You told me you decided her face was ugly,” she continues. “Her acne when she doesn’t wear makeup.”
Shay then flips the camera back to her and we see her gaping at her boyfriend before she covers her mouth. He again denies it, and his mother again insists that he did say that. The clip ends, and the last thing heard is the mother saying, “Why? Is she right next to you and she’s listening?”

Shay calls herself “humbled” in the caption, but viewers think it’s anything but. Before getting into all the outraged comments that viewers left behind, the most prevalent was either asking her if she broke up with the boyfriend or others assuming they are still together.
One viewer staunchly says, “Leave him or leave us out of this.” Shay replies, “Don’t worry been an ex for a long time.”
“Pls tell me yall broke up ..” asks another. Shay affirms, “Yes we did. Only those who appreciate the chin from here on out.”
A vast majority of viewers also commend the mother. One viewer with over 418,000 likes says, “THE MOM IS HELPING U GIRL..” Another similarly states, “Girl….she knows ur there.”
Of course, many refuse to believe the man and his excuses. One viewer says, “That was too specific to not be true girl.”
