Star Wars Headspace: The Star Wars Soundtrack Remixed EDM-Style

ewoks dancing

It seems the Star Wars soundtrack will be getting the Tron: Legacy treatment. Rick Rubin announced via Zane Lowe’s Beats One radio show that the remixed soundtrack is titled Star Wars Headspace. It’ll take sound effects plus other iconic Star Wars aural imprints and remix them into brand new original tracks.

According to the official Disney announcement, the soundtrack will be “a new compilation of original electronic dance music infused with Star Wars sound clips and effects.” It’ll be released on February 19th, and will feature some big EDM music artists. Those artists include Kaskade, Flying Lotus, Röyksopp, Baauer, and Rick Rubin himself.

You can check out a few of the preview tracks over on Polygon. Baauer’s “Cantina Boys,” Flying Lotus’ “R2 Where R U?” and Rick Rubin’s “NR-G7” are all available to stream for free. Check out the full track listing below as well.

What do you think? Will you be picking up Headspace, or is the original soundtrack more your thing?
