Okay, so it’s not really a lightsaber–that wouldn’t actually work in terms of playing the violin. But it looks ridiculously awesome.

Taylor Davis is the musician behind this brilliant work–not only did she arrange and perform several songs from the Star Wars films, but she also managed to pull off representing both the light side and the dark side with some excellent cosplay and makeup.

Thanks to the medley we get to hear Davis’ versions of the classic Star Wars opening, the Imperial Theme and even the Duel of the Fates from The Phantom Menace. (Say what you will about the prequels, but that song is excellent.) Davis says the arrangement is a little more electronic for her, but to me it’s perfect for Star Wars.

(If the name sounds familiar, it’s not the first time we’ve covered Davis either–she did a great The Last of Us cover, too!)

You can watch Davis channel the Force through her violin playing in the video below and check out a behind-the-scenes of how the whole thing came together here.
