Attack on Titan Movie’s Total Disaster: “I’ve Been Waiting for This Day!”

I mean this in the nicest way possible: according to attendees’ tweets, the Attack on Titan movie premiere in San Francisco was a total disaster, and I definitely don’t mean in terms of box office collections.

Apparently the English subtitles froze and were stuck as the movie played on. The words “I’ve been waiting for this day!” remained on screen for over an hour until the theater hosting the premiere announced they would stop and restart the film. Of course, at that point, the audience had just heckled and riffed along, making fun of the movie that probably a lot of them couldn’t understand anymore.

Frankly, I would have loved to have been in that audience, watching those horrifying scenes of people being eaten by Titans with the words “I’ve been waiting for this day!” emblazoned on the screen below. It would have been amazing. Well, at least their worldwide premiere wasn’t a Titan-ic disaster: other theaters reported their subtitles were working fine.

Alas.
