Game recognize game. In this case, Sterling Archer recognizes Tom Selleck’s Magnum P.I. game, and in this teaser for the upcoming Season 7 premiere of FX’s Archer, we get to enjoy an Archer-ified shot-for-shot remake of the Magnum P.I. opening credits sequence.
Of course, it’s all in Archer’s head, so who knows if Season 7 is actually going to be Magnum P.I.-inspired the way Archer Vice was similarly inspired by 1980s TV. Still, it’s awesome to see our favorite sort-of competent agents back for another season.
Sadly, Woodhouse doesn’t appear in this teaser, which is probably to be expected since actor George Coe passed away last year. I’ve been wondering if and how they would address Woodhouse this season. I guess we’ll soon see!
Archer returns to FX on March 27th.
