Stars, They’re Just Like Us: Anna Kendrick Mourns Recent Great British Bake-Off Shakeups

Viewers of the Great British Bake-Off have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions lately after the big shakeup among the cast. As the show prepares to move from the BBC to Channel 4 after significant budget cuts, fans were dismayed to learn that long-time hosts Sue and Mel would be departing from the series with the shift.

In addition, fan favorite judge Mary Berry decided to leave the show out of loyalty to BBC, while her fellow judge Paul Hollywood chose to remain in the tent with future bakers as the show shifts to a new network.

After seven seasons, such a significant shift within the main cast of hosts and judges has left many fans upset in the aftermath–and that includes actress Anna Kendrick. While promoting her upcoming film Trolls on The Graham Norton Show with co-star Justin Timberlake, Kendrick shared that, like all of us GBBO fans out there, she too is taking the loss of Sue, Mel and Mary Berry very hard–but “of course Paul stayed,” she notes sarcastically.

When her couchmate Daniel Radcliffe inquired about whether or not she would go on the celebrity edition of GBBO, Kendrick said she needs more time than the contestants are allotted–though she added she typically puts on a DVD with commentary to fill her brain so she doesn’t wind up thinking negative thoughts or falling prey to anxieties. Basically: Anna Kendrick is all of us.
