Remember when we wondered what that huge deal between BBC Worldwide and AMC might mean for all the nerd shows on TV?

Deadline reports:

Welcome to the family – four months after AMC Networks took operational control over BBC America in a $200 million deal, the company is showing what corporate synergy can do for its newest member. The Season 3 premiere of BBC America’s flagship series Orphan Black on Saturday, April 18 at 10 PM will air simultaneously on all AMC networks – AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and WE tv, the first time the channel group has done that. BBC America is a joint venture between AMC Networks and BBC Worldwide.

That’s… amazing news for Orphan Black!

Ed Carroll, AMC Networks COO, said of the AMC/BBC partnership initially, “Orphan Black and Doctor Who are just two examples of bold and original BBC AMERICA content that creates passionate viewers and fits well alongside AMC Networks shows such as Mad Men, Portlandia and Rectify.”

Of course it may be a little odd for new fans to jump on board for the first episode of Season 3 when so much has happened, but I think outside the devoted fan circles, people aren’t as picky as to where they pick up a show.

Meanwhile, BBC America released new images of Ari Millen continuing a, shall we say surprising thread, from the end of Season 2.
