If you weren’t a big watcher of The West Wing, you may have missed Alison Janney‘s secret talent: lip-synching to songs, most notably “The Jackal.” Her character C.J. Cregg was the most public face of the Bartlett administration, but could be depended upon to, on very special occasions, to drop her studied poise to pantomime to a recording of Ronny Jordan’s “The Jackal.” Here, she tells the story of how that scene came to be, and reprises her performance with great grace.
