Costumer and crafty designer Dawn Bright, a member of the storied 501st Legion, created one of the most accurate Kylo Ren cosplays out there right now, and folks: it really isn’t easy being Kylo Ren.

Bright found out that a set of all black robes does not a Kylo Ren make. Her costume is made up of several layers of robes, skirting, and other bits of clothing. The explanation video clocks in at five and a half minutes long, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but when you’re watching her put on all these layers, it kind of sinks in just how much detail goes into a costume like this.

It’s especially neat watching her twirl in the robes, because that’s exactly how I imagine Kylo Ren gets ready in the morning. It’s also incredibly apt that at the beginning of the video, she’s explaining that the costume has as many layers and is as complicated as a Vader costume, because, well, that’s so Kylo.
