A man tried handing her a mysterious sweater at Target. She refused to take it and got trapped in the store

A stranger approached Oona (@ooniebologna) at her local Target. What started as a routine shopping trip ended with her trapped inside the store after the stranger allegedly prevented her from leaving.

“Something really scary just happened to me in Target in the middle of the freaking day,” Oona told TikTok. She prefaced the story by saying that other women should always be cautious of their surroundings.

“I’m just meandering Target all by myself, and I have my mom on the phone, and we’re just chatting, catching up, and I realized that this guy is a little too close behind me,” she alleged. Oona noted that a man was around and stayed alert. She was walking through aisles women regularly frequented, yet Oona said the man kept following her.

“He’s a 30-year-old white dude. Like, you don’t need lip gloss, okay?” she commented. When she reached the energy drink aisle, Oona said the man tried to hand her a “raggedy sweater” and allegedly passed it off as something she’d dropped.

“I was like, ‘That’s not mine,’ and kept it moving,” Oona said. But ignoring persistent men doesn’t always guarantee they’ll leave. One woman said that during a grocery store trip, a man didn’t leave her until he got her phone number. Oona was already about to check out at Target, but her ordeal wasn’t over.

“I realize he’s still following me,” Oona claimed. She pulled over and pretended to be busy on her phone, but then the man stopped too. At that point, Oona realized she was being followed. When she fell in line at the register, the man allegedly got behind her.

“I don’t know why, but he pivots, and he goes to a different register,” she continued. However, Oona said he still kept turning in her direction.

Getting trapped in Target

“To make matters worse, he was checking out with a Celsius and a f******—and a freaking thing of bleach,” Oona stated. He only had a few items, and Oona felt creeped out by the stranger.

“He gets rung out first, and he makes his way to the front of the store. He stood there, and he’s not leaving,” she alleged. Oona kept her eyes on him because she felt he was following her throughout her grocery run. Since her mother was already on the phone with her, Oona reported the incident to her. Similarly, she also told the Target employee about the man. The employee told Oona she’d talk to the man, and after a while, they confirmed that the man didn’t plan to leave the front.

Oona asked the employee if she had a male co-worker who could walk her out of the store, and they escorted her to the parking lot. Oona continued, “I’m telling you, it gets worse.”

She got to her car, locked the door, and buckled up. Oona started driving and passed the man’s vehicle. “There’s a big, old, rickety box truck, painted half purple. And as I’m driving by it, I see the man hiding behind the box truck,” Oona said. She saw him laughing to himself, describing his expression as “demonic.”

“He watched me get escorted, and he got his rocks off,” Oona claimed. She got out of the situation unscathed, but equally terrified as this woman who got broken into her London rental flat.
