Boy Allegedly Pulls a Fake Weapon on Woman at Baltimore Walmart. Then Officers Arrive and Hear What He Calls Them

‘You’re lucky you didn’t get hit.’

A boy’s alleged rampage with a fake gun inside a Baltimore Walmart has sparked outrage and debate online after he reportedly pulled the weapon on a woman and then hurled racial slurs at a responding officer.

The incident, captured in a viral video, by Amber Starr, @empathamber on TikTok, shows the unidentified minor resisting arrest while shouting profanities and calling an officer the N-word. The footage has already racked up well over 4 million views. Commenters are divided over whether the boy’s actions reflect deeper societal issues or simply poor guidance and parenting. The confrontation began when Amber, shopping for her daughter, claimed the boy ran into her “with that fake gun of his.” Visibly shaken, she’s heard telling bystanders, “See me shaking. And then he’s calling them n-words and everything else. I don’t think so.”

She is later seen confronting the boy directly in the clip, scolding him for his language and actions. “Who are you talking to with that language? You don’t call [the officer] the N-word, number one. Number two, you ran into me. With that. You’re lucky you didn’t get hit.”

The boy, however, appears to show no remorse

Clearly a minor, the boy instead taunted the officer, shouting, “You’re not a cop.” His defiance has left many online stunned, with some questioning his upbringing and mental health.

What has shocked people even more is that this wasn’t the boy’s first viral moment this summer. A bystander at Walmart recognized him from a separate incident in late July, where he was caught on camera in a heated argument with a Black Dollar Tree employee after being kicked out of the store.

In that video, posted by Mya @myamya3000 on TikTok, he is seen clutching onto something in his bag, fueling suspicion that it could have been another fake gun. When Mya asks him what he needs from the store, the boy yells, “I’m trying to buy some f—- toothpaste for my f— sister, ya b—.” The pattern of behavior has raised concerns about whether the boy is crying out for help or merely acting out without consequences.

Under Maryland law, children as young as 12 can face criminal charges

However, juvenile records remain sealed. The boy’s age hasn’t been confirmed, and no updates on his legal status have been released. In the Walmart video, Amber suggested the boy needed “guidance,” a sentiment echoed by some online. She wrote in the caption, “No matter the color, lack of mental health, broken homes, drugs, and this system is the problem, starting with the parents.”

Others, however, argued that the boy’s ethnicity was shielding him from harsher scrutiny. One commenter pointed out the double standard, asking, “Why is it when they’re a white kid, they need mental help, but when they’re a Black kid, they’re a thug?”

The debate intensified as more details emerged. In a separate account of the Walmart incident by Daily Dot, Amber told a shocked bystander that the boy “slammed into me with the gun thing” while she was shopping for her daughter’s underwear. The bystander then showed her a viral video of the boy’s Dollar Tree meltdown, confirming he was the same kid.

Amber’s reaction was grim, “Someone needs to get him. He’s gonna end up dead.” Commenters online were less sympathetic. One person suggested, “A slap across the face will fix that little sh*t,” while another blamed “gentle parenting” for his behavior.

Legal experts note that even fake guns can lead to serious consequences

While the boy may not have intended harm, brandishing a replica weapon in public can still result in charges, depending on the state. The lack of public updates has left many wondering what, if any, repercussions the boy will face.

Unsurprisingly, the incident has reignited discussions about parenting, mental health, and blatant racial bias in how children’s behavior is perceived. Some online argued that the boy’s actions were a symptom of larger systemic failures, while others insisted he was simply a kid who needed discipline.

As more details emerge, one thing is clear: the boy’s behavior crosses a line, and the viral videos have forced a reckoning over what happens when a minor’s actions spiral out of control in public. Whether this serves as a wake-up call for his family or a cautionary tale for others remains to be seen.
