Woman Snatches Shopper’s Pizza Receipt at Costco Kiosk, Then Rushes to Claim His Order: ‘We Had All Been Scammed’

We’ve got pizza thieves at Costco now?

The post-shopping food court run is a sacred ritual for wholesale club regulars. But what if your cheap lunch is hijacked right from the self-checkout machine? According to TikTok creator Sean (@seansvv), his pepperoni pizza receipt at the Costco kiosk was stolen right in front of him. And he couldn’t do anything.

In a candid TikTok storytime sitting at over 25,000 views, Sean broke down how another customer managed to walk away with his dinner without paying a single cent. When the woman began her scam, Sean allegedly thought of it as just an awkward moment of confusion at the ordering kiosk.

Soon but not enough, Sean realized that he’d been caught in a deliberate scheme that left even the store staff baffled. Thankfully, Costco treated him with his correct order at the end. But by the time, the woman already walked off with a free cheese pizza.

Sean lost his pizza receipt to a woman at the Costco self-checkout kiosk

The ordeal unfolded after Sean finished his warehouse shopping at Costco and headed to the food court kiosks. There, he ordered a full pepperoni pizza to take home and paid online.

As the transaction finalized, a woman standing at the adjacent station allegedly reached over and snatched the printed slip straight from Sean’s machine dispenser.

Assuming she was simply confused and grabbed the wrong slip in haste, Sean attempted to politely ask for his paper back. Instead of cooperating, the woman allegedly ignored his questions entirely.

According to Sean, she claimed that she didn’t know what he was talking about. The woman then allegedly marched directly toward the pickup counter. Rushing to the front of the pickup line, the woman reportedly handed the stolen slip to the kitchen staff.

According to Sean, she then began abruptly demanding that they change the pending order from pepperoni to cheese. Understandably, workers tried to resolve the confusion and verify the order numbers. However, the woman allegedly refused to show the ticket or read off the claim code.

Because Sean never had the chance to look at his own slip, he was unable to recite his order number either. This allegedly allowed the woman to grab a fresh cheese pizza and slip out the exit.

To prove he was the rightful buyer, Sean pulled up his live mobile banking app at the register. He showed them the exact timestamped charge on his card for the pepperoni pizza. “they realized we had all been scammed and swindled,” Sean exclaimed.

Recognizing that both the kitchen and customer had been swindled by a fake order, the store team immediately prepped a fresh pepperoni pizza for Sean on the house. It was a fully-planned scam, as Sean said, “You can’t accidentally steal a pizza.”

While Sean ended up waiting an extra 20 minutes to finally secure his dinner, he praised the staff for their patience and quick handling of the chaotic scam. Sadly, scams in grocery stores and warehouses are increasing day-by-day. Every other day, there’s a new method involved.

So, if you’re picking up food at Costco anytime soon, keep your eyes on the printer. And hold on to your receipts like your lunch depends on it. Otherwise, someone might just walk away with your dinner while you’re left standing empty-handed.

Have you ever had someone swipe your food or printed order slip right at the counter?
