Woman Orders Fridge From Best Buy. Then She Catches the Delivery Truck Driving Away Without Knocking on Her Door, Calling Her: ‘FedEx Tried This Once’

Delivery drivers in the U.S. usually work with extremely tight schedules.

Reports have documented Amazon Delivery Service Partner drivers handling roughly 180 to 200 stops in a shift, with some carrying nearly 300 packages in a single day.

One driver told Wired that on busy days, she delivered nearly 300 packages across 200 stops during a 10-hour shift.

This high demand and sheer volume of deliveries can create a system where drivers have very little time to spend between stops.

But according to one Best Buy customer, whose refrigerator was supposed to be delivered by a third party, the drivers didn’t seem to make an attempt to deliver it at all.

Why Was the Best Buy Order Not Delivered?

In a TikTok video that got over 1 million views, creator @sarakoch61 films a delivery truck as it pulls away from her home.

“Literally driving away,” she says in the video. “What the [expletive]?”

She then explained what allegedly happened in the video’s text overlay.

“Best Buy driving away with my fridge without knocking getting out of the vehicle or calling to notify that it’s being delivered like we were told they would do!” she wrote.

She Shares More Details in a Follow-Up

After the original video took off, @sarakoch61 returned with an update and clarified that the people in the truck didn’t work directly for Best Buy.

“Yes, it was a third party,” she says. “It wasn’t Best Buy specifically that delivered… or was going to deliver my fridge.”

Fortunately, she says her partner contacted the company and got the refrigerator delivery rescheduled with a different crew.

However, she remained baffled by what happened during the first attempt.

“They didn’t even get out of their truck,” she says.

At first, she gave them the benefit of the doubt. Since the truck was sitting outside, she figured the workers might have been completing paperwork or doing something else before coming to the door.

Meanwhile, she started emptying her old refrigerator in preparation for the new one.

“So I started pulling everything out of my fridge to get it ready,” she says. “Took me like 5 minutes. Didn’t have a whole lot in there cause I was expecting to get the delivery.”

Then, when she finally stepped outside, she says the truck began leaving.

“I go to step out and they start driving off,” she says. “They were in my driveway. In my driveway.”

She also claims one of the workers saw her before leaving.

Despite putting Best Buy’s name in the original video, the creator ultimately said she didn’t blame the retailer itself for what happened.

“Best Buy did their thing, you know, it wasn’t Best Buy at fault,” she says. “It’s the third-party delivery.”

Other Customers Say They’ve Had Similar Experiences

Commenters filled the replies with similar delivery stories of their own.

“As an old Best Buy manager. Not even a little surprised. Especially if it was the third party,” one viewer wrote.

Another said they once caught a FedEx driver allegedly attempting something similar.

“Fedex tried this once. didn’t knock, leave a sticker or anything. i wouldn’t have even known he was there if my dogs didn’t bark,” they wrote. “I ran downstairs and whipped the door open and he had the audacity to say ‘i knocked!’ uh, on who’s door cause it wasn’t mine?? i reported him so fast and haven’t seen him since lmao.”

Meanwhile, another commenter argued that the issue extends beyond Best Buy.

“This isn’t just a Best Buy problem, this happens with Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sam’s Club, anywhere you can get free delivery on large items,” they wrote. “Because they all use the same 3rd parties to do it and they have no reason to care because they only get paid to attempt to deliver.”
