‘Had to film this’: Woman makes it clear she’s taken. Then an invasive stranger says it doesn’t matter because she’s not in Las Vegas
Being on vacation does not suddenly make someone’s relationship status negotiable. Saying “I have a boyfriend” should usually be enough to make that clear.
But some people seem to treat being away from home as an invitation to keep trying. Even a direct answer can become the beginning of more questions instead of the end of the conversation.
TikTok creator Molly (@mollyxmitchell) says she found herself dealing with exactly that while vacationing in Greece. In a video with around 3.3 million views, she records a man continuing to question her after she tells him she has a boyfriend.
She had already made herself clear
The video begins with the man asking Molly whether any “hot Greek guys” have hit on her yet. Molly tells him she has a boyfriend. Rather than moving on, the man asks where her boyfriend is. Molly says he is back home, prompting a response that seems to dismiss the relationship entirely. “That doesn’t matter,” the man says. “You’re on a Greek vacation.”
Molly disagrees, but the man continues by bringing up Las Vegas and the familiar idea that what happens there stays there. Molly makes her position clear. “That matters to me,” she tells him. The man then asks how long Molly and her boyfriend have been “going steady.” She says they have been together for about a year.
The conversation takes another strange turn when the man apparently points toward a waitress and tells Molly, “This is my girlfriend.” Molly does not seem convinced. Text over the video reads, “yeah.. no she’s not,” followed by another message saying the waitress “gives him the dirtiest look ever.”
Despite the awkward exchange, the man keeps talking to Molly and eventually asks whether she tans often. Molly’s caption makes clear that she was not enjoying the attention. “i had to film this why don’t they take a hint???” she wrote.
Viewers largely focused on the fact that Molly had already told the man she was in a relationship. “He is making me uncomfortable and I am behind a screen,” one person wrote. “Why do they always assume you’re automatically interested in them?!” another asked.
Others argued that Molly did not owe the stranger additional information after his first questions. “Ladies – we do not have to answer any questions. From the first question – tell him it is none of his business and please leave you alone.”
Another viewer pointed out how obvious Molly’s lack of interest seemed from the interaction. “I’m literally autistic and I can read those social cues loud and clear,” they wrote. Even the man’s final attempt at small talk caught viewers’ attention. “‘Do u tan often?’ omg what kind of flirt is this?” one person asked.
Whatever the man’s intentions were, the video establishes something much simpler: Molly told him she had a boyfriend, told him that relationship mattered to her, and still found herself answering increasingly personal questions. Her caption suggests that by the time she started filming, she felt she had already given him enough of a hint.
