Woman Goes to the Amusement Park to Have Fun, Only to Get Trapped on the Ferris Wheel as Nightmare Ensues: ‘Everyone Running and Screaming’
A visit to the amusement park turned into chaos.

People normally expect to enjoy and have fun when they visit amusement parks, but for one woman, her time ended in something akin to a nightmare. Content creator Corinn Rene (@core_inn) shared a video on her TikTok of what transpired during her recent visit to the popular Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park, which ended with her being trapped on a ferris wheel.
Corinn shared footage—that has since accumulated over 3.5 million views—of her riding the ferris wheel, an attraction that gives its riders a scenic view of the amusement park and its surroundings. But while onboard the attraction, she claimed in her onscreen text that she noticed the ferris wheel had “stopped for a suspicious amount of time.”
According to Corinn, she was on the ride for 20 minutes before she decided to look down from the ferris wheel—only then did she supposedly realize that people were running. Corinn said she initially thought people were running due to a tsunami, but that line of thinking was immediately squashed when parkgoers were seemingly running towards the beach instead.
Corinn Was Safe on the Ferris Wheel
Corinn’s video also showed three armed police officers seemingly inspecting the area. “Then I hear someone yell, ‘He’s got him!’” Corinn alleges. She claimed to have started recording when the ferris wheel moved, only for her to get stuck at the top again.
Corinn was left confused by the entire situation, and humorously said in her caption: “So are yall gonna let us down, or?” TikTok viewers chimed in that being atop the ferris wheel was “literally the safest place” at that point, considering the lack of information and chaos ensuing on the ground at the time.
Some users even theorized that there was possibly a shooting incident: “You were in a safe spot. An active shooter is likely to aim for easy targets right in front of them because they don’t want to waste a bullet. The odds of them looking up to shoot a target in the air is highly unlikely. Sorry you experienced this.” If one does come into contact with a gun pointed at them, a former cop gave tips on how to get out of the situation.
Gunshots Were Reportedly Heard At The Amusement Park
According to Corinn, they immediately ran to their car once they were finally let off the ferris wheel. The content creator alleges that multiple police officers were coming into the area, and that people were screaming and running around. “It was honestly heartbreaking. No one knows what’s going on,” Corinn said.
It seemed that TikTok users’ theories on a possible gun shooting at the amusement park were correct. According to the Ceres Police Department, the Santa Cruz Police Department was dispatched on August 3 at around 9:02pm following reports of gunshots fired at a parking lot opposite the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It was confirmed that no one was injured as a result of the shooting when the police arrived.
Police reportedly secured the area and found multiple pieces of evidence. As a result of their investigation, police had identified two 17-year-olds from Ceres, California as suspects in the alleged shooting, along with their associated vehicles. Police reportedly issued a search warrant for their homes for additional evidence related to the ongoing case led by the Santa Cruz Police Department.
