‘He’s Admitting to Harassing a Woman’: Trump Weighs In On His ‘Restraining Order’ Post About Giorgia Meloni Amid Iran Tensions
Still Friends.

United States President Donald Trump is clarifying his relationship with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Over the past few weeks, rumors have circulated about a growing rift between Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni, especially over Iran. At one point, they even had a public disagreement. This became widely known when Trump made the infamous comment about Meloni being a fan of his and claimed that she repeatedly asked for a photo with him at the NATO summit. However, after weeks of back-and-forth between the two world leaders and serious public debate, Donald Trump, in a new clip, says that although he didn’t like that Meloni didn’t support him in some of his efforts, he still considers her a nice person.
Trump clears the air about his relationship with Meloni
The friendship between close allies Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni seems to have hit a rough patch. This was revealed after the former made comments about the latter, prompting her to retaliate and leading to a public feud. However, last week, while speaking to the press, Trump, when addressing his “restraining order” comment about Meloni, suggested that everything is fine between them despite some disagreements. Clips of the incident quickly circulated on X, sparking extensive discussion. User @atrupar, who posted the clip along with many others, received many comments on his post. One notable comment came from user @ShawnieP0324, who said that Trump was admitting to “harassing a woman” after she “didn’t do what he asked her to do.”
Trump’s words in this context were, “We had a bad relationship. It became bad because she refused to help us. Again, I didn’t put a heavy press on her, but she refused to get involved with the Hormuz Strait, or you could also say, just Iran…So, it soured my relationship with her a little bit, but I like her….I think she’s a nice person, actually, but I think she made a mistake… She just wasn’t there for us, and I wasn’t happy about that.”
What went down between Trump and Meloni
While reports of increasing tensions between Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni have been circulating for quite some time, their feud only became publicly known last month.
After attending a G7 summit together in June, Trump told the Italian press that Meloni had “begged” him to take a photo with her. According to an article published by Reuters on June 19, 2026, Trump said, “She begged me to take a picture with her. She wanted a picture with me so badly. I wouldn’t have taken it, but I felt sorry for her.” Following this, Meloni, while disputing Trump’s claims, said she was “astonished” by what he said and that what he was claiming was “completely made up.” She also expressed disbelief over Trump’s behavior toward his allies and stated that “it is not the first time” he has acted in such a manner.
Things between Trump and Meloni escalated even further in the eyes of the public when Trump shared a photo of himself and Meloni on Truth Social last week, with the caption, “RESTRAINING ORDER NEEDED.”
