Elon Musk Is Beefing With Tom Holland (Not That One) Over The Odyssey

First reactions to The Odyssey are out! And, Elon Musk is beefing with Tom Holland (not that one) now, apparently!
Christopher Nolan’s latest epic is finally getting to theaters. And, of course, the weeks long hate-campaign is also raging on as well. One of the biggest voices complaining about The Odyssey before it even gets to the general public is Elon Musk.
The social media poster and world’s first trillionaire took to his platform to criticize Tom Holland for pointing out the bad-faith grifters haven’t seen the film. Notable critics say that the latest Nolan movie is great. That’s hardly shocking.
But, you know what is? Elon Musk calling Holland a cuck. And then the hilarity of realizing that he is probably assuming that he’s insulting Tom Holland from the MCU. In actuality, he’s insulting a random historian on social media.
Things have been somewhat hectic on Musk’s personal social media platform since the acquisition. But, in these small moments, the light of the former glory pokes through. It just makes you feel good,
Musk might have been thoroughly radicalized by the constant streams of hateful rhetoric on the very platform that he owns now. But, the site itself can still present strange moments of serendipity when called upon.
Elon Musk & His Beef With Tom Holland/ The Odyssey

Long before this random shot at Tom Holland, Musk was raging about The Odyssey more broadly. If you haven’t heard, the movie features Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy. Now, this made mostly racists on the Internet upset.
Once that hate train was off and running, Musk joined in because he never wants to be out of the mix when it comes to dominant discourse on the app he bought. The chatter about Nolan “having to do diversity to get awards” reached such a pitch that Nyong’o herself had to address the arguments.
The Oscar-winner talked to Elle Magazine about all this “controversy.” Most of that conversation is really thinly veiled racism. Ultimately, the star was as eloquent as always.
“This is a mythological story,” Nyong’o explained. “I’m very supportive of Chris’ intention with it and with the version of this story that he is telling. Our cast is representative of the world. I’m not spending my time thinking of a defense. The criticism will exist whether I engage with it or not.”
There were always going to be random hate accounts and faceless critique around this film. But, none of that can tell you if a movie is actually going to be good or not.
How Good Is The Odyssey?
Well, if you already enjoy Christopher Nolan, you’re going to have a good time. In addition, there are too many stars to count in the cast for The Odyssey. So, just by the sheer math at play, there’s going to be something for you to like along the way? The Mary Sue’s Rachel Leishman got to see the film. And, she liked what Nolan was doing with this well-worn story.
“THE ODYSSEY is as epic as its source material with that level of Christopher Nolan spark that makes it something special,” she wrote. “It’s a story of love and loss and takes you on quite the journey in only the way Nolan knows how. Breathtaking, bold, and perfection.”
