Woman opens up her bag of Drizzilicious from Costco. Then she sees something move inside: ‘Oh honey SUE’

Reaching the end of your favorite snack bag can be bittersweet. While it signals the near emptiness, the remnants can make for a tasty finale. Almost nobody expects visitor to be waiting at the bottom. This woman was one of them where the sight of a creepy crawly in her Costco Drizzilicious had her repulsed.
Yuck, What Did She Find In Her Drizzilicious?
For 10 seconds, TikTok creator Izzy (@izzy.marticek) reveals her “Pov: eating a bag of Drizzilicious and the saxophones kept getting louder.”
When she shakes the leftover Birthday Cake Bites for emphasis, something seems to be inching among the crumbs. Then, she zooms in to unveil a brown insect crawling through, joining her in munching on the rest.
Of course, this doesn’t stop the content creator from calling out the brand in the caption through three simple words: “Wtf is this[?]”
During an interview with The Mary Sue, Izzy shared this has become her go-to snack.
“I’ve actually been buying it for a while now because it’s a great low-calorie snack and has been helping me a lot with my calorie deficit,” she revealed.
As soon as she saw the critter, she felt revolted.
“I stumbled across the insect in my bag after it was almost finished actually and it was crawling around at the very bottom,” she recalled. “I felt in total disbelief and disgust. I see stuff all the time of things like this happening to people but I never thought I would be one of them.”
So far, the content creator has made much progress with the brand regarding the situation.
“They did end up reaching out to me through a TikTok dm and sent me a link to fill out a Google doc form,” Izzy said. “I still have yet to hear back from them after almost two days now.”
As a result, she has sworn off the brand altogether.
“I will definitely never be buying anymore of their products as it seems they do not have very good quality control,” she stated.
Viewers Are Horrified
Izzy’s video amassed 1.6 million views and those who’ve recently chowed down on Drizzilicious were in utter disbelief.
“Stop it. I just ate drizzilicious an hour ago,” one viewer commented.
“Listen I just got 2 new bags and one almost gone. Don’t show me thisssss,” another pleaded.
“No! For my mental sanity, this is fake. I have 3 bags I’ve been eating from,” a third begged.
Moreover, others encouraged her to pursue legal action.
“I need money… can I be your lawyer?” one commenter asked.
“Oh honey SUE,” a second urged.
Does She Have A Case Against Drizzilicious?
Discovering bugs in your food is without a doubt unpleasant. Unfortunately, simply feeling the urge to vomit at the sight of a critter isn’t enough to win a case. According to Legal Match, what Izzy experienced would fall under emotional distress, which is a difficult claim to prove and usually costs more than it’s worth.
Instead, the outlet explains the legal system checks for how it physically affected you. Think of proving how ingesting the insect made you sick. Examples would include medical documentation, hospital bills, food preservation, and payment records. If she were to file a lawsuit, she would need evidence of mental health treatment for this incident.
How Does A Bug Wind Up In An Unopened Bag?
Izzy seems to have encountered a pantry pest in her Drizzilicious. Like most bugs, they can find a way in typically during field production, harvesting, or initial processing, per Active Pest Control. Despite being sealed airtight, they are able to sneak in packaging through the tiniest micro-crevice and lay their eggs. Since the insects enjoy chowing down on grains, they are most likely to infiltrate facilities that manufacture these foods but can still hitch a ride in storage and transportation with warm temperatures.
Accidentally munching on one isn’t known to cause any illnesses but can definitely kill a hankering. So, feel free to discard the bag at your own discretion.
