Siblings Tried Playing a Prank on Their Mother. It Went Horribly Wrong: ‘Bet You Won’t Do It Again.’

Kids can be a handful to raise. But content creator Voice and Vigor recalled a story about him and his sister that took things to the next level. When they were younger, a prank went horribly wrong—and his sister almost died from the ordeal.

“My sister and I used to pretend to be dead a lot, growing up,” he explained on TikTok. It was to “freak out” their parents. He mentioned having pranked his parents with the toaster in the bathtub and food coloring in flowing water. They’d had more pranks, but even the mention of those was rather extreme—it would startle and horrify any parent.

“So, we had graduated to something more serious,” he said, imitating what a man on a noose would look like. Even the concept of the prank seemed dangerous. But as he and his sister are experienced pranksters, they pushed through with it anyway.

“We rigged up, like, this whole system,” he said, outlining the plan. It involved a clothes hanger, and his sister would be suspended by a hidden belt on her waist to support her weight. The rope, on the other hand, was supposed to be for show. From the distance, it would look like his sister was already hanging.

It’s a diabolical plan, and it seemed foolproof in the kids’ minds. When their mother pulled up by the driveway, the kids set things in motion. They’d removed the stool, and from that very moment, the belt failed to support his sister’s weight.

Prank gone wrong

She was actually hanging this time around, much to her brother’s horror. They were supposed to scare their mother, but now, both of them were freaking out. He immediately grabbed his sister’s legs, trying to push her up so that she wouldn’t be hung—but it wasn’t enough.

He could hear his mother’s keys at the front door. When she swung the door open, the first thing she saw was her daughter hanging from a high place and her son struggling to keep his sister from death.

“Mom, help!” He screamed. But their mother had a surprising response.

“Grow up, guys,” she told him. Their mother had no idea that this time, his sister was in danger and that it was no longer a prank. They’d pulled pranks on their parents so many times to the point that their mother now had a hard time believing them.

“But my brother, who’s on the other side of the house, comes running through the hallway and sees us,” he said. His brother was distraught by the sight of his two other siblings in a life-and-death situation. When their brother saw their mother just standing by, he was perplexed—he didn’t get why their mother wasn’t helping out at all.

That’s when their brother ran to the kitchen, grabbed a big chef’s knife, and finally cut the rope that was keeping their sister suspended. The kids toppled like Jenga on each other.

The boy who cried wolf

“Why didn’t you do anything?” Their brother confronted their mother.

“Well, if I had helped you, you guys would’ve kept on doing this. I bet you won’t do it again,” their mother said. But that was a losing bet, according to the content creator.

“Unfortunately, Cassandra died like ten more times after that,” he said of his sister. Perhaps the only thing that finally put an end to the siblings’ chaotic antics was adulthood.
