Philadelphia Woman Ordered Room Service in Her House. Her Husband Didn't Question It: 'Would You Like it Quicker?'

Room service is a luxury almost everyone calls for during vacation at a fancy hotel. But Diana Konfederat (@dianakonfederat) from Philadelphia was ordering room service from an unusual location.

“Hi, I’d like to place an order for room service, please,” Konfederat said through her phone. The man on the other end of the line laughed. It turns out, she wasn’t at a hotel—she was at home, and the person who took the call is her husband. Instead of brushing her off, he played along with his wife’s antics.

“Uh-huh, okay, absolutely. Ma’am, what can I get for you?” Her husband asked, as though a switch flicked inside his head. He gave her the standard customer service voice, which made Konfederat chuckle.

“I would like a bottle of your finest champs, pronto,” she requested.

“Okay, a bottle of our finest champs, okay,” he said, like he was actually taking note of the “order.”

“As soon as you could possibly get it here. Also, can I please just have a water?” she added to her room service request.

“Sparkling or still?” he asked. At this point, it sounded like they were in an actual hotel. She even told him to get her a glass of ice, and he went into the specifics—if she wanted it in a separate cup or if she wanted it with the drinks. Konfederat could barely contain her laughter with how seriously her husband was taking the bit.

“Thank you. How long will that be?” Unlike most room service requests, hers was just downstairs and serving no other customer but her.

“About an hour,” he joked, adding, “Would you like it quicker?”

“Yes please,” she told him. He agreed and reduced the waiting time to five minutes.

Five-star hotel room service

If her husband had a Booking.com, Konfederat would probably give him a perfect rating. When he came up for room service, her husband announced himself.

“Room service!” and he entered, and she was stunned. He came with more than what she asked for. Her husband carried a silver tray to her bedside.

On it was a glass of champagne, water with blueberries, ice, and an assortment of snacks she didn’t ask for. They were perfectly plated, as one would expect from a five-star hotel. But this all happened at home, and she was surprised with how her husband responded to her prank.

“What you will find here are our exquisite peanuts, flown in from Indonesia,” her husband said, still going along with the room service bit.

“A Russian valley chocolate, straight from the arctic backs of polar bears,” he said, and there were two bars.

“These pickles that have been sliced artisanally,” he gestured to the sliced pickles in a silver bowl. then pointed to the popcorn at the side.

“Popcorn from the slopes of the Swiss Alps,” he joked—it’s the perfect response to his wife’s hilarious room service request. Needless to say, he definitely matched her energy.

“He’s literally an angel for bringing everything up on a literal silver platter,” Konfederat noted on her post, which has gone viral on TikTok.

Many commenters on TikTok also praised her husband for entertaining her whimsy.

One comment reads, “I love married couples who loves each other and can be silly.”

Another said, “And he brought you snacks! I hope you tipped well.”

It all started out as a prank, but the wholesome ending had people screaming into their pillows.
