Americans are already worried about grocery prices going up even more. What doesn’t help is seeing the price change right in front of their eyes.

That’s what allegedly happened to TikTok creator Giselle (@sunnyyyd_), who was shopping for Tic Tac Fruit Adventure and Ice Breakers Wintergreen mints.

In her video, which got over 269,500 views, Giselle points the camera at the products. The Tic Tac pack of 200 mints costs $4.52, while the Ice Breakers Wintergreen mints cost $3.62.

“You guys are not worried enough about dynamic pricing,” she says. “It’s happening.”

Does Walmart Do Dynamic Pricing?

The company has previously denied partaking in dynamic pricing, which is the practice of raising or lowering a product’s price based on its demand on the market.

Multiple reports from customers have come after the retail giant installed electronic shelf labels. Instead of an employee having to switch each label as prices change, this can now be done wirelessly. As a result, people are sometimes witnessing the changes in real time.

What’s also contributing to the concern is just how high grocery prices have recently become. In April 2026, the annual inflation rate rose to 3.8%, the highest since May 2023. Grocery prices are also rising across different products, including tomatoes, ground beef, and more.

Take the price of Tic Tacs, for example. They were $4.52 about a week ago, when this video was posted. Now, they’re listed at $4.66. That does not prove dynamic pricing, but it does show how fast prices are going up.

Commenters Disagree

In the comments section, not everyone agreed that the video showed dynamic pricing.

“Digital tags do not guarantee dynamic pricing. They’ve been around for years,” one user wrote.

“As someone working at Walmart, that’s not happening,” another said.

“Im a TL and the main reason for the digital labels is to help our OPD team ((the online shoppers)) and the third party delivery teams with finding items better, and to keep everything priced,” a third wrote. “Not to mention making our shifts easier having to manually do price changes with paper, these update automatically from our market ((higher ups)) just the same as when we get price changes for the paper ones. Its not dynamic pricing its quality of life for the workers and customers.”
