‘Greed is a horrible trait’: Iran Embassy congratulates Karoline Leavitt over daughter’s birth, but there is a twist

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is probably one of the last people you’d expect to take a stand for Iran, including for the children killed in the early days of the US and Israel’s joint attacks on the country. Nevertheless, Iran is leaving no stone unturned in calling her out (not once but twice) for repeatedly justifying Donald Trump’s actions regarding Iran and for her own hypocrisy on the issue.

On May 7, 2026, Karoline Leavitt announced on social media that she had welcomed her daughter Viviana, also known as Vivi. She described her as “perfect” and “healthy” and said her big brother was “joyfully” adjusting to life with his “new baby sister.” While her announcement was generally positive, the Iranian Embassy in Armenia responded by criticizing her post and pointing out her hypocrisy. They wrote, “Congratulations to you. Children are innocent and lovable. Those 168 children that your boss killed in the school in Minab, and you justified, were also children. When you kiss your baby, think of the mothers of those children.”

Iranian Embassy makes pointed remarks about Karoline Leavitt

As mentioned earlier, after Karoline Leavitt publicly announced that she had given birth to her daughter on May 7, 2026, the Iranian Embassy in Armenia shared her post and added their own comments about the event, which included taking a swipe at her for her hypocritical nature. While they congratulated Leavitt on the post and the birth of her child, they also pointed out that her “boss,” Donald Trump, had killed 168 children in a school in Minab and urged her to consider the mothers of those children when she kisses her baby.

It wasn’t just the Iranian Embassy in Armenia that took a shot at Leavitt; the Iranian Embassy in South Africa also joined in. Sharing her post about the birth of her child, the page wrote, “When your child grows up and reads history, she will be ashamed that you served one of the most hated governments in history. Your hands are stained with the blood of many innocent children, like the children of Minab.”

Trump aims to suspend the federal gas tax

As gas prices hit record highs in the United States due to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, American citizens are struggling to keep up with the costs. Naturally, they are complaining about this and holding the Trump administration responsible, while also calling for some relief regarding the prices.

It seems that Donald Trump has been considering these requests because an article by CBS News notes that in a phone interview, Trump expressed a desire to suspend the federal gas tax temporarily. “I think it’s a great idea. Yup, we’re going to take off the gas tax for a period of time, and when gas goes down, we’ll let it phase back in,” Trump said, talking on the matter.
