Woman endures a 3-hour delay on Spirit Airlines to Los Angeles due to pilot’s absence, then when he finally arrives, he struggles with the intercom

Air travel can be a complicated experience for many, especially if faced with repeated hiccups. For TikTok user @_brittanylimathe, the situation was similar, as she explains in a video she posted on June 29, 2023.

In the roughly 3-minute video she uploaded on that date, @_brittanylima shared how she will never fly with Spirit Airlines again after her recent experience with them. As she said in her video, not only was her flight to Los Angeles delayed by several hours, but a series of other incidents occurred during the flight, making her and others’ experiences truly miserable.

TikTok user  @_brittanylimathe vows not to fly with Spirit Airlines again

As mentioned before, TikTok user @_brittanylimathe uploaded a video on her account recounting a horrible experience she had with Spirit Airlines. Understandably angry, she started her rant by saying that she would rather be strapped to the wing of any other airline than travel with Spirit Airlines again.

Moving on to the incident that made her decide not to fly with Spirit again, @_brittanylimathe stated in her video that the last day she flew Spirit was from New Jersey to Los Angeles, which was already thirty minutes delayed. She continues and mentions that time kept passing, and an hour and a half had gone by before they were finally seated. Then, shortly afterward, a flight attendant announced over the intercom that the pilot was not on board and that they had no information about his whereabouts or when he would arrive. The attendant also said they would inform passengers as soon as they knew anything. At this point in the video, @_brittanylimathe completely loses her cool, angrily shouting and remarking that she wasn’t aware that a flight could board passengers without the pilot on board. She screams, “I didn’t even know it was legal to board, fully board a flight without the pilot.” Staying on the topic of “illegal,” @_brittanylimathe mentions that a flight attendant, “unprovoked,” came to her row and asked an elderly man if he would like to fly the plane. The man was understandably uncomfortable with the question, and so was Brittany. Finally, as Brittany mentioned in her video, the pilot arrived but struggled with the most basic part of his job: using an intercom. He was in and out of the system several times, and when he finally got it working, he apologized for the delay and said he would discuss it in more detail during the flight. Brittany believes the pilot couldn’t come up with a proper excuse, which is why he said he would explain later. Anyway, two and a half hours later, the pilot announced that the flight couldn’t take off yet due to bad weather. After three hours, when the plane finally moved, a flight attendant came on the intercom and said the plane would land in Las Vegas, then quickly corrected herself, saying Los Angeles, implying she had been joking the first time. To top it all off, the flight offered free drinks and snacks during the delay, but passengers, including Brittany, received nothing but half cups of water.
