Carnival Cruise can’t dock at Bahamas due to weather. Then a passenger crashes out—and another steps in: ‘We were supposed to go horseback riding’
Nature excursions can be magical, but they’re not always something you can plan far in advance for one simple reason: the weather.
While conditions are often predictable, sometimes they don’t appear until the last possible moments.
That’s what happened to a group of Carnival cruisers who were supposed to visit Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas.
One passenger was clearly not happy about it and decided to confront the crew. TikTok creator Unik (@blg_unik) captured the interaction on camera.
What Happened During The Carnival Cruise?
In the video, which has garnered over 1.4 million views, a man approaches a Carnival Cruise service counter and begins confronting staff.
“They cancelled Nassau cause of the weather,” Unik wrote on screen.
The man complaining explains that he had already been told he would receive a refund for the excursion. However, he says that doesn’t make up for the experience.
“That doesn’t change my daughter crying in the port because she’s not going horseback riding,” he says. “We’ve been looking forward to this for months.”
He goes on to accuse Carnival of misleading them.
“My daughters are horse kids… they love them. Carnival lied to us,” he says.
While the worker’s response isn’t clearly heard, it’s clear he’s trying to de-escalate the situation.
That’s when another passenger steps in.
“Let them do their [expletive] job, man,” he says from the back of the line. “They’re looking out for the safety of everybody.”
“You yelling at him is doing what?” he continues.
The man eventually stepped out of the line. The two go back and forth briefly before the confrontation starts to break up.
Commenters Don’t See His Point
In the comments section, most viewers didn’t sympathize with the complaint.
“How do you get mad at a human for the weather being bad,” one person wrote.
“Wait so… it was canceled due to weather… the staff acknowledged, apologized and told them they are getting a refund… what else is there to discuss??” another added.
“This is an excellent learning experience for his daughter. She learned that you don’t always get what you want. I love this for her,” a third said.
“How dare they put everyone’s safety first…” another joked.
What Happens When A Carnival Excursion Gets Canceled?
According to Carnival’s official policy, shore excursions can be canceled due to weather or other conditions, and guests are typically issued a full refund.
If an excursion is canceled, the refund is credited directly to the guest’s onboard account.
The Bahamas, in particular, is known for its windy conditions, which can make docking difficult. Several Carnival Cruise fans have reported similar situations where ships were unable to dock in Nassau due to high winds.
While it can be disappointing, especially for pre-booked activities, safety concerns ultimately take priority, and Carnivall issues refunds generally for both excursions and any port-related fees.
