There’s truly never a dull moment working as a server. Customers are constantly testing your patience through their obnoxious or obtuse behaviors.

Especially post pandemic, encountering rudeness from customers almost on the daily has turned into the norm, a trend that continues to climb. A survey reported by KTVZ found that servers have noticed a 41% increase in unruliness since 2024, tranforming the work experience into another day, another crashout. Unfortunately for this Cheesecake Factory server, she had the worst of both worlds during her shift. Even a quick bathroom break wasn’t safe.

Popular server and TikTok creator Kenzie (@cocainekenz) gives her over 287,000 viewers a glimpse into life working at the beloved Cheesecake Factory through ‘Am I on Earth’ post-shift installments.

In December, she trended for her rant about two insufferable older women in her section. Now, she is crashing out about the several groups of customers she dealt with on the clock. “You’re not gonna believe what the [expletive] happened tonight,” she says, walking through a dark parking lot to her car. “Buckle up, this one’s fun.”

Complaint About Lemonade

Once she is seated in her car, she starts driving and diving into her first story. “Let’s get started, shall we? I have a table come in. The lady orders a drink from the bar that includes lemonade,” she says. “I bring it out. She says it’s ‘too sweet’ and ‘too lemony.’”

Containing her rage, the server tries to offer the woman alternatives. But the woman refused to budge, insisting on the sweet, lemony lemonade with a few tweaks that even Kenzie found unappealing.

“‘I just wanted to be less sweet and a little less lemony,’” she recalls the woman saying. “She tells me exactly how she wants it remade. I say, ‘I don’t think that’s gonna taste very good.’”

However, the woman ends up proving the content creator correct.

“The drink comes out. She said, ‘This doesn’t taste good,’” she recounts the customer saying. Most people enjoy being right. For the server, it boiled her blood. “It’s almost as if I had told you that before you sat here and told me that,” she vents how she felt in the moment. “You telling me that lie it’s some revolutionary piece of information is absolutely absurd.”

But the worst part?

“‘I just like it so much better last time,’” she says the woman told her.

“‘So we have set ingredients and set amounts to make these drinks. It’s exactly the same every time because that’s what it has to be,'” the server responds to the customer. “‘You had it the last time, I promised you, it tasted just like this.’”

Lights Are On But Nobody’s Home

The second story isn’t as bad, but still frustrating. “My next table comes in, she asked for the check,” the server says. “I bring her check. She goes, ‘Where’s the pen?’” Kenzie handed her the pen and the woman kept searching for the line to sign it. “Where do I sign?’” she recalls the woman saying.

“‘I haven’t run your card yet. I haven’t taken your card to take the payment yet, so there’s no signature yet,’” the content creator says she explained. “‘I’ll bring back the two copies when I run your card.’”

But the woman couldn’t connect the dots together. “‘I don’t understand,’” the woman says. After repeated elaborations, she wasn’t comprehending, much to the server’s annoyance.  “I ran away because what are we doing here right now?!” she asks exasperatedly.  “I feel like I am truly on an alternate plane. Like actually, what the [expletive] are we doing here?!”

“Eventually, she ends up piecing it together,” she says.

A First For The Server

“Later in the night, I had to pee so bad now,” Kenzie says. “I greet, give them drinks, everybody’s good. I check on all of my tables before I go.”

Not even a brief bathroom break to relieve herself was exempt from customers. “Literally, I’m in the bathroom for five minutes, I hear a voice. ‘Um, excuse me, Kenzie?’”

Initially, she disregards the voice, believing it was for someone who coincidentally shared the same name as her. When the content creator exited the stall, she was greeted by the owner of the voice. It had to be urgent enough to invade the server’s privacy, right?

“I just wanted to let you know that we’re ready to order,’” she recalls the woman saying. There’s a first for everyone, including Kenzie.

“I have actually never had that happen before in my life. That was really bizarre,” she says in utter disbelief. “I couldn’t [expletive] believe it if I’m being frank with you.”

Clearly, the woman wasn’t able to wrap her mind around it. “She’s looking at me. It’s almost as if she’s not realizing that was an incredibly inappropriate invasion of privacy,” she says.

“I will never be using the guest bathroom ever again no matter how close it is to my section,” the content creator states.

The Unruly Final Table

Kenzie’s final customers of the night were the ‘highlight’ of her shift.

“Then, I had another table. They said their food was taking too long, OK?” she says. “The goof in question had been in for 12 minutes. It’s toward the end of the night. Food doesn’t take that long because there’s barely any checks in the screen.”

However, this was just one of several unruly behaviors, with one involving the Cheesecake Factory’s iconic bread and butter.

“This was also the same table that sat down and immediately as I’m taking their drink order, started talking over me, requesting four baskets of bread and six butters,” she says. “For how many people, you ask? Four.”

“So, I bring them one basket of bread and two butters, they finish that,” she says. “I bring them another, they finish that.”

Eventually, it got to the point where the server had to cut them off. “I tell them we’re out of bread,” she says. “We’re not actually out of bread but we’re not about to be playing that game here. So, we’re out of bread until further notice.”

This incident led to the original complaint about the food. But one member of the group took it a step too far. Apparently, confrontation was on the menu tonight.

“I’m in the back doing things for another table, OK? They come in, they find me in the kitchen,” Kenzie says, before adding the onslaught of complaints from the customer. “‘Which one of these are ours? Where’s our food? We’ve been waiting too long.’”

But she wasn’t having it. “‘Um, not sure. I don’t cook the food. I just bring it out whenever it’s ready,’” she recalls saying, deadpanned.

But It Gets Worse For The Server

Once the food arrived, the group had nothing but to verbally express their annoyance. In turn, she expressed hers in that moment, “Are you [expletive] good? It’s been 14 minutes. And you had two baskets of bread between the four of you.”

On top of that, they took their time lingering in the restaurant. “They end up sitting there for about 25 minutes past close. Thank you so, so much for rushing me and god forbid, I were to rush you,” Kenzie vents. Of course, the real icing on top of the cheesecake was the tip.

“I go and pick up the receipt after they leave,” she says. “You know what it says?”

When the screen cuts, she unveils the ‘lovely’ note attached to the receipt in black ink, “Too long wait for below average food, sorry for this time. Next time, if service is good, will tip generously,” attached to a whopping $0 tip.  This incident was the boiling point for the server.

“Baby, there won’t be a next time if it’s up to me. Do not ever [expletive] come back,” Kenzie concludes.

Viewers Are Livid

Kenzie’s video amassed 3.1 million views, evoking the ire of many on her behalf.

“I GENUINELY think it is some [people’s] first time on earth,” one viewer commented.

“Goodness gracious. Like have people NEVER been to a restaurant. Card THEN pen. Every time. One of my biggest pet peeves,” another remarked.

“This was a WILD one omg!! THE BATHROOM?! THE KITCHEN?! THE AUDACITY?!!’ a third stated.

Meanwhile, other servers entered the chat with their own similar experiences.

“I had someone knock on the door while I was peeing to tell me [they] needed more ice tea,” one commenter revealed.

“I worked at Olive Garden, a woman told me I grated cheese too fast and asked for a new server. Girl,” a second shared.

“I had a lady order a TOMATO salad and sent it back because she is allergic to big tomatoes,” a third recollected.
