‘You’ve lost your marbles’: Piers Morgan can’t hide his secondhand shame and orders Donald Trump to delete that Easter message

Too cringe-worthy, even for Piers.

Piers Morgan isn’t holding back, openly calling President Donald Trump “embarrassing” and urging him to delete a recent Truth Social post that issued a barrage of threats against Iran. Morgan believes the president has “lost his marbles” following the highly aggravated message shared on Easter Sunday, a day many people spent with family and unwrapping chocolate eggs.

According to UNILAD, Trump, pictured relaxing at a Virginia golf course just hours before his online rant, took to Truth Social, the platform he launched in 2022, to deliver a stark warning. His post declared, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” He then escalated the rhetoric, commanding, “Open the Fing’ Strait, you crazy bds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!”

The president’s loaded message didn’t end there. He continued to shock by concluding with “Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.” The intensity of the post quickly drew widespread attention and concern.

Social media was understandably bewildered by the president’s behavior

British broadcaster Piers Morgan was among those taken aback by the president’s words. Morgan shared a screenshot of Trump’s message on X, adding his own direct commentary. He wrote, “This is embarrassing, Delete it, President ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ – unless you want everyone to think you’ve lost your marbles.” Morgan’s post resonated widely, garnering over 113,000 likes and more than 18,000 reposts at the time of writing.

Trump’s latest social media outburst comes amidst escalating tensions created by the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane, has been blocked by Iran since a joint US-Israel attack on the country back on February 28, 2026.

This blockage has had significant repercussions, causing energy prices to surge dramatically across the world. The strait’s closure directly impacts international oil supplies, making its status a major point of contention in the ongoing conflict. Trump’s ultimatum is not the first, as he has extended deadlines for Iran to reopen the strait at least twice before, shifting his deadline from Monday to Tuesday in this latest expletive-laden communication.

Iran was quick to dismiss Trump’s fierce ultimatum

According to the BBC, Iranian officials mocked the warning, calling it “helpless, nervous and stupid.” The country’s parliament speaker also issued a stern warning, stating that Trump’s “reckless moves” would mean “our whole region is going to burn,” highlighting the potential for widespread conflict if tensions continue to escalate.

Interestingly, despite his sharp public criticism of Trump, Morgan’s stance wasn’t entirely negative over the holiday weekend. Just a couple of hours after his “lost your marbles” comment, he returned to X to praise a significant US military operation.

He remarked, “The more I read about the US mission to rescue their 2nd downed airman in Iran, the more astounding it is. Kudos to the CIA, SEAL Team 6, and all the others involved in finding their man and getting him out. And to him, for incredible guts and tenacity.” This mission involved the daring rescue of a second crew member from a downed F-15E fighter jet.

The two-day search concluded with US commandos successfully extracting the officer who had taken cover in a mountainous area in south-west Iran. While Iran distributed images showing wreckage of several aircraft, it did not deny that US forces had indeed rescued the officer.

The public back-and-forth between Morgan and Trump isn’t new

The two were once known for their close friendship, which began in 2008 when Morgan appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice. However, recent political disagreements and differences in opinion seem to have severely strained their relationship, leaving it in tatters. Their interactions often play out publicly on social media, reflecting the evolving nature of their dynamic.

The president’s Easter Sunday threats also followed a weekend of speculation regarding his health. Rumors began circulating on Saturday afternoon, April 4, suggesting Trump might have been admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center. This speculation arose after the White House issued a statement at 11:00 AM that day, refusing to reveal the president’s schedule for the rest of the day, which led many to question his whereabouts and well-being.

However, later statements from the White House quickly dispelled these rumors. White House communications director Steven Cheung took to X to confirm Trump was continuing to work over the Easter weekend. Cheung wrote, “There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him.”
