‘He is suing because he got caught?’: Trump set to turn to the courts after being namedropped in the Epstein Files

After appearing multiple times in the recently released set of Epstein documents, Donald Trump is now attempting damage control. In doing so, he is making bold promises, the truth of which only time will tell.
Following the US Department of Justice’s release on Friday of more than 3 million pages of information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, including 180,000 images and 2,000 videos, Donald Trump believes he is in a position to sue author Michael Wolff for co-conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to slander his name, arguing that the recent revelations prove he is not guilty of any crimes related to the Epstein case. Speaking with reporters on Saturday aboard Air Force One, Trump remarked that the recent developments in the Jeffrey Epstein case implied that Wolff and Epstein were trying to harm him “politically or otherwise.” His exact words in this context were:
It looked like this guy, Wolff, was a writer, was conspiring with Epstein to do harm to me. I didn’t see it myself, but I was told by some very important people that not only does it absolve me, it’s the opposite of what people were hoping, you know, the radical left, that Wolff, who’s a third-rate writer, was conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to hurt me, politically or otherwise, and that came through loud and clear.”
He continued, saying that he and his team would “probably sue Wolff” for conspiring against him.
As videos of the incident started circulating on social media platforms, a lot of people began discussing the matter, leading to significant debates. While many argued that Trump wasn’t in a position to sue anyone, others (mostly MAGAs) believed that he should follow that route to earn some extra money.
For people who believe that Trump should sue Michael Wolff, there’s a small catch. While what Trump is claiming about Wolff and Epstein might be true, as corroborated by several email communications between the two, his other claim that the recently released documents absolve him of any wrongdoing isn’t necessarily true. The Epstein Files-related revelations, if nothing else, at least puts a spotlight on Trump because, although he might not be actively involved in anything, he at least knew of Epstein’s endeavours and decided to keep quiet about it.
This has been proven by the release of an email interaction between Jeffrey Epstein and his partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, previously, in which the former told the latter that Trump had spent several hours at his house with one of the victims. This has also been confirmed by Trump himself, who has claimed on multiple occasions that he threw Epstein out of Mar-a-lago after he learnt of his misdemeanours, despite being best friends with him (the latter part of the statement has never been confirmed by him but is something that is known within social circles).
