Donald Trump blaming Biden for immigration issues, but let’s not forget he’s the one who handed asylum to the National Guard shooter

Donald Trump has been going on again and again about the existence of “illegal aliens” in America. He has also been taking steps to ensure that their numbers are reduced by frequently conducting raids in collaboration with the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement since the beginning of his second term as president.
Since assuming office this year, Donald Trump has been trying to control the people of America through various means. Although he is failing on most fronts, he has also been succeeding in some. In several states in America, Donald Trump has successfully deployed National Guard troops to oversee (and control) the day-to-day lives of residents. He has also sent ICE agents to these locations, who are conducting periodical raids to identify “illegal aliens,” detain, and then deport them. In other states, Trump has been unsuccessful in his efforts to gain authority, specifically due to pushback from local leaders. For the same reason, he has repeatedly lied and conspired against them and attempted to paint them in a negative light so that people would be convinced that there was a need for intervention.
While all of this continues to happen in the background, a new set of problems arrived on Wednesday when it was reported that an individual had opened fire at National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., and 2 people were injured and in critical condition as a result of that. The prime suspect in the shooting was identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan immigrant who had entered the U.S. in 2021 under the Biden administration but was vetted and granted legal asylum by the Trump administration in April 2025. However, during his press address following the incident, Donald Trump did not address his administration’s involvement in the matter but instead solely blamed Biden for it, saying that “We must now reexamine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden.”
Trump’s blame-shifting has urged people on the internet to react with strong criticism. One person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote:
“Trump and facts are like fire and water…”
Another wrote:
“Joe Biden, and occasionally Obama, are always the convenient scapegoats for any and all of Trump and his administration past, present and future failures… the biggest fail is DJT himself, and not the majority of Americans.”
Several others echoed similar sentiments.
