On various occasions, Johnson has spoken for and about Trump even when he was in the wrong (which is almost always).

Since the beginning of the government shutdown, which became effective on October 1 this year, Mike Johnson has maintained that the Democrats are to blame for it. This is after the Republicans and Democrats failed to reach a consensus on a government funding bill, which is necessary to keep the government going. While the Democrats suggested cuts in health insurance expenses and revisions to Medicaid policies, the Republicans opposed them, leading to a deadlock and the eventual government shutdown. So who is really to blame here?

It has been two weeks since the government shutdown, and Johnson hasn’t stopped praising Trump and his party, nor has he stopped mud-slinging at the Democrats and blaming them for everything. Recently, at a press conference, he spoke poorly of Obamacare and highlighted how it had negatively affected Americans over the years. He also claimed that he and his party had a plan to replace the system. Regarding his so-called “plans,” he said:

“We worked on repealing and replacing Obamacare back in 2017. I still have PTSD from the experience… We know that American healthcare needs dramatic reform. Let’s just state it simply. Obamacare failed the American people.”

As he continued to discuss the promises of Obamacare and its failures, he made no mention of the healthcare plan he and his party had to reform and replace the current system. Not surprising at all! Many observers noticed this and pointed out that the Republicans have always preferred to criticise Democrats for things they are not actually working to change. One person on X, under a snippet shared from Johnson’s address, called him a “spineless Trump Toddie,” hinting at his inability to take a stand and being influenced by Trump.
