Millie Bobby Brown Battles a Dragon in Netflix’s ‘Damsel’

Millie Bobby Brown has become something of a Netflix fixture. She rose to prominence as our favorite Demogorgon-slaying, nose-bleeding heroine Eleven in Stranger Things, and then starred in two Enola Holmes films as Sherlock Holmes’ brilliant and feisty little sister. Brown’s journey with the streaming service continues in the fantasy epic Damsel.

What is Damsel about?

After agreeing to marry a handsome prince (Nick Robinson), Princess Elodie (Brown) discovers that she was actually recruited by the royal family to pay an ancient debt. They then promptly sacrifice her by throwing her into a literal dragon’s den. With her fairytale ending shattered, Elodie must rely on her strength and wits to get out alive. So it’s Ready or Not, but with dragons? Sign us up!

Is there a trailer for Damsel?

The official teaser for Damsel looks pretty freakin’ awesome. We see Brown running, hiding, and climbing some very sharp spikes to escape the dragon. We also get a glimpse of the royal family she married into, which includes Robin Wright, in a clever nod to her star-making turn as Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride.

When can we see Damsel?

Netflix will release Damsel on March 8, 2024. The film, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), was slated to premiere in October 2023 but was pushed to 2024 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

In the meantime, Netflix has released a pair of new images featuring Brown as Elodie:

Who else stars in the film?

Damsel has a stellar cast. Alongside MBB are Angela Bassett (Black Panther), Robin Wright (The Princess Bride), Nick Robinson (Love, Simon), Ray Winstone (The Departed), Brooke Carter (The Peripheral), and Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse).

It’s safe to say we can’t wait!
