Robert Pattinson Bruce Wayne

Will Robert Pattinson be in ‘Dune’ 2?

How can we make this happen?

After the release of The Batman, Robert Pattinson started having a moment. Once the maligned star of the Twilight series, Pattison has made intriguing career choices and generated chaotic interview energy since—and people now want to see Pattinson in everything. During an interview with Variety, Pattinson mentioned he would like to play a part in the upcoming Dune sequel. After the mere utterance of the possibility, the internet is abuzz with the possibilities.

The second half of the blockbuster Dune will start filming this summer. So far, much of Dune‘s expansive universe has remained hidden and uncast. Many characters who are very important to the story do not have actors attached to them.

Who Would Pattinson Play?

Although there are several characters Pattinson could be, one, in particular, makes the most sense. For me, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen would be the only choice. Feyd-Rautha is another member of the House Harkonnen. We saw his uncle Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård) and brother Glossu Rabban (Dave Bautista) in the first Dune film.

Similar to Paul Atreides, Feyd-Rautha is like the evil version of the young hero. In the effort to create the prophesied Kwisatz Haderach, the Bene Gesserit had many contingency plans. Both Paul and Feyd came from the breeding lines of the secretive sisterhood. Either of them could have equally been the chosen one. In the first part of Frank Herbert’s Dune, Paul rose into power and become the destined savior. That left Feyd with the bitter taste of failure, and a spurned hand-to-hand combat expert will not sit idly by as someone usurps power from him.

In the 1984 Dune film, Sting played the role artfully. Pattinson has admitted in the past taht he can only play strange characters, and Feyd would be perfect. Already the first Dune movie showed what an eccentric bunch the Harkonnens are. He has the acting chops, and the cheekbones, to make Feyd jump off the screen. Also, seeing Pattinson go toe to toe with Timothée Chalamet’s Paul would be magical. So, is there a petition we can sign to make this happen or what?
