To show up the NFL Draft which also occurred yesterday, Netflix released a clip of Luke Cage performing feats of strength and ability, naturally breaking all the records with his superpowers.
While we’re pretty sure Luke Cage isn’t going to make a sharp turn into a sports drama, the clip is a great reminder of exactly how powerful Luke Cage is (and even quantifies his abilities for nerds who want to do some more intense show analysis).
And check out his adoring fan base that watches from the fences of Harlem Jets Athletics! Who doesn’t love a “no big deal” shoulder dust? Here’s a GIF for you to use whenever you, too, are able to toss a 400 pound tire across a field like it’s nothing.
The clip is titled “The Show Off” and considering the fact that our hero doesn’t even break a sweat broad jumping 24 feet, it’s kind of accurate. The description reads, “Luke takes on the combine to show his true power to the world and to himself.” Also appearing in the clip are New York Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles, and ESPN reporters Jemele Hill and Michael Smith who provide some excellent commentary that’ll definitely get you psyched for our hero’s return.
Season 2 is set to be released June 22nd, with a premiere directed by none other than Lucy Liu. Are you looking forward to it?
