Margot Robbie’s Solo Harley Quinn Movie Brings Gotham City Sirens to the Silver Screen, At Last

Recommended Videos

Harley Quinn is a great character just on her own, but some of her best storylines have unfolded when she’s had occasion to team up with Poison Ivy and/or Catwoman. Said team-ups have happened in the DC Animated Universe and also on the comic book page in Gotham City Sirens, a series that starred the three villainesses and ended up getting sadly canceled to make way for the New 52.

Anyway, it sounds like Margot Robbie is a big fan of Gotham City Sirens, too, and so her solo Harley Quinn movie will be following the road map set forth by that series. According to THR, the movie’s new working title is actually Gotham City Sirens (!!!) and it’s going to feature “the top female villains from the DC stable.” We all know who that must be: Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman!

Last we heard about this movie, Christina Hodson had gotten tapped to write the screenplay, but according to THR’s reportage, the movie has a new screenwriter in Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who is also currently working on the Tomb Raider reboot. Although the movie’s creative team hasn’t been set in stone yet, it at least seems as though everyone involved is devoted to sticking with a woman screenwriter—which makes sense given that the movie is going to star three women (!!!!!).

Now… who would we like to see playing Catwoman and Poison Ivy??? Commence the fan-casting!
