“Oh Right, We’re Actually in Star Wars“: Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, and Gareth Edwards Appear in New Rogue One Featurette

It’s always great to see Star Wars actors geek out about being in Star Wars, especially when they talk about watching the movies growing up. In a new featurette, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s Diego Luna and Felicity Jones talk about the ensemble of rebels and the thrill of being in a Star Wars movie. Director Gareth Edwards also talks about how if he knew he would shoot a Star Wars film he would have planned it his entire life, calling it “the world’s greatest toy set.” Edwards also provides some exposition and gives a brief introduction to the film, explaining that it’s a small bit of text at the beginning of A New Hope.

Luna says, “These films, these characters, the story–I grew up with. It’s a whole world that I’ve been thinking about for quite a long time.” Jones, who’s said she’s embracing her nerdiness, describes the atmosphere on set, stating “You can feel everyone in the crew and the cast kind of stops and just takes that in and you remember, ‘Oh right, we’re actually in Star Wars.‘”

I can only hope this means lots more featurettes like this one from The Force Awakens where John Boyega touches everything in the Millennium Falcon and no one can control him. Rogue One come to the U.S. December 16th.
