Pokémon Go Is Making Moves to Add New Pokémon (And Ditto)

Recommended Videos

From the beginning, Pokémon Go users have been waiting to see more Pokémon beyond the First Generation Pidgeys and Rattatas. With Niantic making more and more efforts to bring back users and keep them coming back, it seems like your Cyndaquil is not too far away!

Data-miners found references and placeholders that add Pokédex entries for all the Generation 2 Pokémon (Gold and Silver’s Chikorita to Celebi) in the most recent update. They also found a “Transform” move that suggests that Ditto, who has not made any appearances yet, will also join the game.

TechCrunch points out that this doesn’t necessarily mean that new Pokémon will be appearing soon, as there are plenty of code references to unavailable features in the game. Still, it’s exciting news and when this update does happen I think I might even start playing again. How about you?
