Fan Creates Wonderful Indiana Jones Animated Series Intro Sequence

So when are we getting a pilot?

Recommended Videos

Much to our collective disappointment, we never got an Indiana Jones animated show. But thanks to fans like Patrick Schoenmaker, we’re able to fix our cravings when and where we can. Schoenmaker put together a great trailer/intro sequence that imagines what an Indiana Jones animated television show might look like. It’s packed with references to each of the movies (yes, even Crystal Skull) and features some great supporting characters as well, including Short Round and Marion Ravenwood.

The animation style is reminiscent of super classic cartoons like The Adventures of Tintin or some early Venture Bros. The latter was, of course, based on Jonny Quest, which drew its inspiration from the same pulp comics and books that spawned Indiana Jones, so maybe the stylistic choices there are a bit more evident. Still, though, this is all really just to say Schoenmaker appears to have really dug deep to put together a well-executed trailer that harps on a lot of the same emotional chords that the Indiana Jones movies do themselves.

The music, as well, goes a long way to helping round out the trailer. John Williams’ score can be heard throughout, with plenty of interesting almost-there riffs on the theme.

It’s all a really fun watch, especially because it really captures what cartoon intro sequences do well: provide snapshots and scenes from the kinds of adventure you can expect from the show, all while introducing some of the characters and themes recurring throughout. This is certainly worth your time, and will likely put a smile on your face by the end, especially if you’re an Indiana Jones fan.

Excellent job! So when are we going to get a first episode, eh?
