What’s the secret to dancing at 106? President Obama tries to slow 106-year-old Virginia McLaurin as she runs over to say hello to First Lady Michelle and dances her way through the White House, but McLaurin is much too excited–she even did her nails!
I thought I would never live to get in the White House and I tell you, I am so happy…a black president, a black wife. Yes! And I’m here to celebrate black history.
McLaurin, born 1909, turns 107 in a couple weeks. She’s also a community volunteer who’s been honored for her work with students who have severe mental and physical disabilities. She said back in 2014 that she’d love to meet President Obama, and it’s fantastic that it finally happened.
