If Batman: The Animated Series‘ Bruce Timm is going to adapt The Killing Joke into animation—which he is, and there’s nothing we can do about it—his long-standing Joker wants in.
That, of course, would be none other than Mark Hamill, whose Joker voice has become as iconic as The Animated Series itself. A fan mentioned on Twitter that he hoped DC would reach out to Hamill about the upcoming project, and his response indicates, unsurprisingly, that he’d be up for once again taking on the role he’s performed in animated and video game Batman adaptations over the years.

While a lot of us here at The Mary Sue have some less-than-favorable opinions of The Killing Joke, if they’re going to do it, at least getting Hamill back as the Joker would be something to like about it. Though, DC mentioned after Timm’s initial Comic-Con announcement that the adaptation would feature a new prologue to add to the story, so here’s hoping they’re willing to further update it and maybe do something about its more troublesome aspects.
