The Hulk wasn’t looking likely for The Avengers 3 Captain America: Civil War, but he’ll be there if Tony Stark himself—or Robert Downey Jr.—has anything to say about it. And he does, according to Mark Ruffalo. It’s on now, Cap.
Ruffalo told HitFix that his Avengers boss told him that he’d be assembling, and assemble he shall:
At this point, I’m told that I’m in it by Robert, which I’ll take as biblical, but I just haven’t heard or seen from production yet. If Robert Downey, Jr. says I’m in ‘Captain America,’ I’m in ‘Captain America’ dammit. And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script.
The studio may not know it—or be willing to share it—yet, but Downey’s got his back. Science Bros. for LIFE.
OK, so they’re might also be just having a bit of fun, but I’m going to go ahead and make this one real-life headcanon until we find out for sure next year—or hopefully at least a little before then. Listen to Ruffalo’s full remarks and decide for yourself:
