Actual Fish Plays Pokémon, It’s Not Very Effective, but It Is Fun to Watch

Living in a fishbowl is (probably) boring. So one Twitch user took inspiration from Twitch Plays Pokémon and rigged up a motion capture camera to allow his fish to play the original Pokémon games. I can't tell if Grayson the fish is enjoying it, but the odd mixture of the calming nature of fish in a bowl and the frustrating nature of someone playing a video game extremely slowly is oddly mesmerizing.

Living in a fishbowl is (probably) boring. So, one Twitch user took inspiration from Twitch Plays Pokémon and rigged up a motion capture camera to allow his fish to play the original Pokémon games. I can’t tell if Grayson the fish is enjoying it, but the odd mixture of the calming nature of fish in a bowl and the frustrating nature of someone playing a video game extremely slowly is oddly mesmerizing.

According to the channel info, Grayson has been playing for 135 hours and already has his first Pokémon: a charmander named AAAABBK. Grayson’s humans are thinking about speeding up his game by letting him play with friends, too. They may eventually put a site together that allows users to set up their own fish-tracking cameras and contribute to the button inputs, which will probably wind up looking pretty indistinguishable from Twitch Plays Pokémon, actually.

As the saying goes, 1,00o fish with 1,000 motion tracking cameras will eventually complete Pokémon. That’s how it goes, right?
