Farscape Creator Confirms That A Movie Script Is In The Works

Holy frell. Speaking on a panel at WonderCon yesterday, Farscape creator and Revolution showrunner Rockne S. O’Bannon confirmed that the script for a new Farscape feature is currently underway, with Brian Henson on board as well.

Let’s see how well I can type while crossing all my fingers.

O’Bannon reminded fans that production is still in “early, early stages,” but commended Henson for keeping the project going: “He was like a dog with a bone. He would not give up on it.”

We first heard whispers of new Farscape back in February, when if.com.au broke the news that writer/co-executive producer Justin Monjo was writing the screenplay. The plot will reportedly follows John and Aeryn’s son, whose special powers have, inevitably, made him the target of alien bad guys. He rejoins his parents aboard their ship (Moya, I would assume), where hijinks will undoubtedly ensue.

There’s no word yet as to what kind of release we’re talking about (TV seems the smartest bet), or when we might hope to see our lovable band of fugitives on screen again. As long as Claudia Black comes back, I am down for anything.
