We Hardy knew ye.

That featured image is Tom Hardy walking away from us. Just so we’re all clear.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hardy has dropped out of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad for “undisclosed reasons” (THR posits that his shooting schedule for The Revenant or the Mad Max: Fury Road promotional tour may be to blame). Jake Gyllenhaal, who worked with Ayer on End of Watch, has been offered the role of Rick Flagg in Hardy’s stead.

Although I’m a fan of Hardy in general, I was definitely struggling to imagine him in another DC Comics role after his time as Bane, so I’m personally not too broken up about his departure from the film. If Will Smith or Viola Davis dropped out, that would be a different story.

Bye, Tom. I’m not too sad to see you go, but I love to watch you leave. (Butts, everyone. I’m talking about his butt.)
